Composure under pressure

Supporting school leadership decisions around data protection and AI

Remain stable under scrutiny, rather than shifting under pressure.

I work with school leadership teams when decisions around data protection, AI use, and digital risk become unclear or contested.

My role is to support proportionate, defensible decision-making where accountability, scrutiny, and consequence matter.

When decisions introduce unrecognised digital risk

A new system, platform, or AI tool is being proposed and responsibility is unclear.

A supplier contract or data-sharing arrangement does not sit comfortably, but pressure exists to proceed.

Safeguarding, wellbeing, or digital practice has created data protection risk without it being explicitly recognised.

Proportion before process

My work focuses on helping leadership teams clarify what needs to be decided, what can reasonably be evidenced, and where risk should be accepted rather than managed away.

I work proportionately, with an emphasis on accountability and defensible judgement rather than process for its own sake.

Supporting leadership teams in reaching defensible decisions

I work with a light touch and a clear sense of proportion.

My role is to support leadership teams in reaching defensible decisions, not to create additional layers of compliance or documentation.

Where risk exists, the focus is on judgement and accountability, rather than expanding process for its own sake.

This approach is outlined in more detail in How I Work >>.
